Hollywood and originality aren't two things that go together anymore I'm afraid. Sure you get the occasional blockbuster that's new and original, but most movies these days are remakes or the same idea replayed with new charaters. Look at Rambo and Live free or Die Hard for example. It was a fast way for them to make a buck off an old franchise. I think writers need to stop worrying about how they are going to find new ways to push the envelope with the shock factor and simply worry about a fresh idea.
